U-Pack spots a freight trailer or a smaller ReloCube and operates on a tight load-window before the freight ships the next business day.

How U-Pack works
U-Pack is a service of ABF Freight, a national LTL (less-than-truckload) carrier. They drop a 28-foot trailer (or smaller ReloCube containers) at your address. You typically have three business days to load. ABF then picks up the trailer, drives it on their existing freight network, and delivers within a published transit window — usually 2–8 business days for most US-to-US moves.
Pricing is based on the linear feet of trailer space you actually use (or the number of ReloCubes), plus mileage, plus any optional services. You only pay for the space you fill, which is one of U-Pack's biggest selling points for partial-trailer moves.
How PODS works
PODS (Portable On Demand Storage) drops a steel-framed container on your driveway, street (with permit), or at a PODS storage facility. You load on your own schedule — typically a month of "free" rental before holding fees apply. PODS then trucks the container to its destination, where it can either be re-delivered to your driveway or held at the local PODS facility.
Pricing is based on container size (8', 12', 16'), origin and destination, monthly storage time, and any redelivery fees. PODS is designed around flexibility — you can keep it for one month or six months at the destination before final unload.
