How We Rank Moving Companies

By Sarah Chen · Last updated April 2026

Our scoring model

Every moving company review on Bestmovers.info uses a weighted score combining five signals:

  • FMCSA compliance (30%) — complaint ratios per 10,000 shipments, out-of-service violations, and authority status from safer.fmcsa.dot.gov.
  • BBB profile (20%) — accreditation status, rating grade, and complaint resolution rate.
  • Service quality (20%) — aggregated customer rating average from Google, BBB, and Yelp public reviews.
  • Operational footprint (15%) — years in business, coverage area, and service breadth.
  • Pricing transparency (15%) — availability of binding estimates, published price ranges, and quote-process clarity.

Editorial independence

Bestmovers.info may earn a referral fee when readers request quotes from a listed company. Those fees fund the operation but do not influence rankings or scoring. Companies cannot pay to appear on the site, change their score, or remove a review.

Data freshness

Company review pages are reviewed at least every six months and updated immediately when a company's licensing or BBB status changes. Pricing tables are refreshed semi-annually using FMCSA tariff data and the most recent United Van Lines National Movers Study.
